This fireside chat will cover themes like collective visioning and participatory planning with a critical power analysis. Through a series of guided questions and multimedia references, panelists will share perspectives and strategies for operationalizing engagement, moving from government governing the people to people governing the government, holding space for new voices and disenfranchised stakeholders, disrupting what we know to be the planning workforce, and incorporating justice as a decision making mechanism.
An introduction to co-powerment models for public engagement, including dignity-infused planning and community engagement.
At the conclusion of this session, registered participants will have the option of joining a 30-minute small-group breakout session.
This session will be simulcast on YouTube for observer access.
